The game
The floor is wood.
As kids, we had to make our own fun, and back then a playground wasn't all plastic and rubber. Ours was built out of metal, rocks, and wood. So we turned the whole thing into a game we called Rocks & Metal.
Whoever was "it" could only travel across the rocks and the metal: the bars, the chains, the climbing structures. If you weren't it, you were free to use the wooden parts too, so you had the run of the entire playground. To tag someone, "it" had to cross the whole course without ever touching the ground. The result was a fast, ridiculous, slightly dangerous game we could not get enough of, and one that absolutely would not fly on a playground today.
